Rocky I (Part one)

Ciao.

A me piace vedere film. A casa, e quando posso, al cinema.

Ci sono movieche ho visto più volte, ovviamente sono movieche mi sono piaciuti e fa piacere rivedere.

Tra questi, sicuramente, il movieche ho visto più volte è Rocky.

Questo movienegli ultimi 27/28 anni lo avrò visto forse 30/40 volte. Non scherzo.

Basta averlo visto 2 volte all’anno per arrivare a quella cifra e se pensate che solo ieri l’ho visto 2 volte, non esagero dicendo che forse la cifra di 40 volte in tutta la mia vita non è un’esagerazione.

Ovviamente gli occhi di  un bambino sono diversi dagli occhi di un uomo. Quando ero bambino vedevo in quel moviecerte cose. Da uomo ne vedo molte di più.

Da bambino vedevo Rocky come un eroe, mi piaceva il moviecome storia, soprattutto quando si allenava e mi spiaceva quando alla fine perdeva ai punti contro Apollo Creed.

Da adolescente mi piaceva il romanticismo del film.

Da adulto mi piace il movienel suo complesso.

Molti non sanno che dietro alla pellicola sono celate altre storie. Ed è di queste storie che voglio raccontare.

Rocky secondo me è decisamente un bel film. Il mio giudizio potrebbe essere discutibile per molti, ciò non toglie che vinse l’oscar come migliore movienel 1976, in concorrenza quell’anno con Taxi Driver, Tutti gli uomini del presidente e Network (conosciuto in italia come “quinto potere”), quindi di certo non un moviedi secondo piano.

Il movieracconta la storia di un ragazzo, adulto, trentenne. Un pugile che per vivere fa l’esattore per un gangster della sua zona.

Rocky è uno sfigato, si sente sfortunato, incompreso.

Non raccoglie la stima che vorrebbe raccogliere dalle persone che gli stanno attorno.

Il movieriesce a mettere subito in chiaro che personaggio è Rocky, forte dentro ma socialmente infelice.

 Si nota quanto l’autista del suo capo gangster lo chiama “polpettone”, e lui si arrabbia senza però poter difendersi. Il capo gangster spiega a Rocky, per difende l’autista ed evitare sceneggiate in strada, che non se la deve prendere, che all’autista Rocky non piace per nessuna ragione particolare, solo un fattore istintivo.

A me capita raramente che una persona non mi piaccia in maniera “istintiva”, ma ho l’impressione che spesso non piaccio per motivi “istintivi”. Faccio spallucce e guardo avanti a testa alta.

Altra persona di cui Rocky vorrebbe avere la stima ma non ce l’ha è Mickey, il proprietario della palestra dove si allena ( e che poi diventerà suo allenatore).

Mickey gli dice che è “una scamorza” di fronte a tutti in palestra. Gli toglie l’armadietto che Rocky possedeva da sette anni senza dirgli nulla e lo da un ragazzo promettente più giovane di Rocky. Mickey non perdona a Rocky d’aver iniziato a fare l’esattore “per un gangster da 4 soldi”. Rocky si giustifica dicendo “ci vivo”. Cioè, riesce a campare con i soldi che ottiene facendo l’esattore. Mickey alza la voce dicendo urlando “e lo chiami VIVERE?”.  C’è una morale sottile in questo breve episodio. Un insegnamento non so voluto o nato per caso. Per Mickey VIVERE, non significa mantenersi. VIVERE è anche essere delle persone che non scendono a compromessi, pure di fronte alle avversità. Essere persone rette, oneste, seppur pieghiate dalle avversità della vita. Non importa quanto cadi in basso, se fai le cose giuste, ti rialzi e vivi.

Ma se scendi a compromessi per poter “riprenderti” rimani dove sei.

Rocky viene preso in giro pure da una ragazzina di 12 anni. Tornando a casa la sera, Rocky vede in mezzo da un gruppo di ragazzi balordi che gli chiedono i soldi per bere una ragazzina. La conosce e cosi la prende per portarla a casa. Le fa un discorso cercando di farle capire che dovrebbe essere più attenta a chi frequenta, che si dovrebbe scegliere delle amicizie con ragazzi più svegli non con dei balordi. Che deve stare attenta a come si atteggia perche rischia di farsi una brutta reputazione. Lei mentre lo accompagna alla porta fa finta di capire e apprezzare, poi quando lui le volta le spalle lei giù urla “ fan culo rompipalle”. Rocky si allontana desolato dicendo “ infatti ma chi credo di essere io?”.

E’ preso in giro pure di fronte alle telecamere durante la conferenza stampa, vuole salutare la fidanzata Adriana ed è spinto fuori. In questa scena, una battuta di Apollo evidenzia come gli americani siano un popolo che ama gli stereotipi. Chiedono ad Apollo che ne pensa di Rocky e lui dice “sei italiano vero? – riferendosi a Rocky - Questo significa che se non sa combattere almeno sa cucinare”.

Rocky è un ragazzo solo, cerca di avere un appuntamento con Adriana una coetanea poco fortunata come lui, per nulla attraente e sexy, e bistrattata sia dalla sua datrice di lavoro che dal fratello Paulie.

Rocky cerca di attirare le attenzioni di Adriana recandosi ogni giorno nel negozio dove lavora , dove ha comprato le sue due piccole tartarughe marine. Si inventa una barzelletta ogni giorno per farla ridere.

Ottima tecnica quella di far ridere una ragazza per conquistarla. Peccato che lei sia timida e non ride molto. Alla fine riesce ad uscire con lei grazie all’aiuto di Paulie che lo invita a cena per il giorno del Ringraziamento quando si mangia tacchino. Riesce a “rubare” ad Adriana un’uscita la sera stessa, vanno a pattinare perche ad Adriana piace pattinare ma a Rocky no (Sylvester Stallone non sa pattinare).

La produzione del movienon aveva i soldi per pagare le comparse nello stadio del ghiaccio cosi si sono inventati che lo stadio fosse chiuso. Rocky per poter far pattinare Adriana è costretto a pagare 10 biglietti per una corsa di 10 minuti.

Adriana e Rocky si conoscono meglio Rocky spiega ad Adriana perche fa il pugile (perche non sa ne cantare ne ballare).

Rocky invita a casa sua Adriana che timida e riservata prima esita ma poi entra, e si baciano.

Esiste quindi Rocky uomo, un fallito innamorato di Adriana. Esiste Rocky pugile, un mediocre boxer che non ha mai avuto la fiducia degli allenatori da giovane per emergere (“Il fegato c’è l’hai ma quando combatti sembri goffo…ecc”).

Ma la fortuna è dietro l’angolo. Se non molli mai, di fronte alle avversità. Anche nei casi disperati, prima o poi la fortuna bussa alla porta. Nel caso suo si mostra in una forma alquanto improbabile. Gli viene proposto di combattere per il titolo contro il campione del mondo dei pesi massimi Apollo Creed.

Prima tentenna, non dice si subito, ha paura ed esita. E’ normale, sa che non ha possibilità di vincere contro il campione del mondo, vede solo che potrebbe essere un’ulteriore possibilità per essere umiliato. Poi però si rende conto che è anche un’opportunità. Rocky è un idealista. Sa che l’America è il paese delle opportunità. E vuole mostrarlo al mondo. E cosi accetta.

Mickye si propone di allenarlo, dice che a Rocky serve una manager, con un manager può cogliere meglio l'opportunità che gli è capitata. Ovviamente Rocky si sente offeso, rifiuta l’aiuto di Mickye che si presenta li alla porta solo perche adesso lui combatte per il titolo, mentre pochi giorni prima era solo “una scamorza”. Lo caccia di casa, ma poi lo insegue.

Si allena, si convince di potercela fare, di aver qualche chance.

Ma quando arriva alla vigilia dell’incontro, la notte prima si rende conto che non può battere il campione. Perde fiducia e inizia ad avere paura. Esce a far un giro, entra dentro lo Spectrum Stadium di Philadelphia dove si sarebbe svolto l’incontro. Qui è da notare che i pantaloncini nel poster raffigurante dentro Rocky dentro lo stadio erano di colore sbagliato.  Non fu fatto a posta. Ci fu un errore e fu consegnato alla produzione un poster gigante con i colori dei pantaloncini sbagliati. Allora per evitare ogni tipo di gaff hanno inserito nel copione Rocky che fa notare all’organizzatore l’errore. Questo a sua volta dice che poco importa e che sicuramente sarà un grande incontro quello che si svolgerà il giorno dopo.

Però, non importa, non importa se Creed lo massacra di pugni e perde. Il suo obiettivo è rimanere in piedi nell’ultimo round. Perche nessuno ci è mai riuscito e se lui ci riesce, allora dimostra a se stesso che non è solo un “bullo di periferiea” ma che vale qualcosa.

L’accappatoio che indossava Rocky il giorno dell’incontro era due taglie più grandi, non fu fatto a posta ma anche questo come il poster fu un errore. Per evitare di cadere nel ridicolo, fu inserita una battuta dove Rocky chiede ad Adriana se per caso l’accappatoio lo rende goffo.

Lei evita di rispondere, in quanto futile in quel momento di elevata tensione.

Le scene del mach sono veloci. In un moviedi 25 capitoli, il mach occupa 2 capitoli e mezzo . Nell’incontro Apollo Creed vuole umiliare l’avversario, giocando un po’ con lui sia prima dell’incontro ( lo chiama “scemo”), sia durante l’incontro. Ma Rocky è un incassatore e anche se i suoi primi colpi vanno a vuoto, riesce a mandare al tappeto Apolli col primo colpo che riesce a mandare a segno. Un pugno al mento e Apollo è a terra, si alzerà subito ma è confuso non capisce che è successo, non è possibile che un pugile che non è nessuno lo abbia messo al tappeto quando nessuno ci era riuscito prima.

Ovviamente la rabbia esplode in Apollo e la violenza dei colpi di Apollo travolgono Rocky per tutti i successivi round. Va a terra tante volte. Al quattordicesimo round Apollo colpisce Rocky che cade al tappeto. Apollo alza le braccia in segno di vittoria, sa che buttare a terra l’avversario al quattordicesimo round significa aver vinto. E invece Rocky si alza,non molla, vuole arrivare alla fine.

Finisce il match, perde ai punti. Ma a lui non interessa. Ha raggiunto il suo obiettivo. Ha vinto , c’è Adriana.

Il moviesi conclude con lui che chiama Adriana da dentro il ring assediato dai giornalisti increduli dell’accaduto. Lo invadono di domande sul match e sul suo futuro. Lui li spinge via dicendo..”non me ne frega niente del futuro…vai via…Adriana!!!!”

Adriana sale sul ring e gli dice che lo Ama.

Il moviesi interrompe qui. Anche se si doveva interrompere con lui e lei che escono dallo stadio mano nella mano. Immagine poi ripresa invece per la locandina del film.

I like to watch movies. At home, and when I can, to the movies.
There are movies I've seen many times, of course, are movies that I liked and does good to see.Among these, the movies I've seen many times is Rocky.
I have seen this movie maybe 30/40 times over the last 27/28 years. I'm not joking.
Just saw him 2 times a year to arrive at that figure and if you think that only yesterday I saw him 2 times, no exaggeration to say that perhaps the figure of 40 times in my life is not an exaggeration.
Obviously, the eyes of a child are different from the eyes of a man. When I was a kid I saw some things in that movie. As a man I see a lot more.As a child I saw Rocky as a hero, I liked the movieas a story, especially when he was training and I was sorry when he finally lost points against Apollo Creed.As a teenager I loved the romance of the film.As an adult I like the movieas a whole.
Many do not know that hidden behind the movie are other stories.
I think Rocky is definitely a good movie. My opinion might be controversial for many, the fact remains that he won the Oscar for best movie in 1976, in competition that year with Taxi Driver, All the President's Men and Network (known in Italy as the "fifth power"), therefore certainly not a movieof the second floor.
The movie tells the story of a young adult in his thirties. A boxer that work  as collector to live collector for a gangster in his area.Rocky is a loser, you feel unhappy, misunderstood.
Not collect the estimate that would collect from the people around him.The movie manages to make it clear that character is Rocky, but strong in socially unfortunate.
 We note that the driver of his gangster boss calls him "Meatloaf", and he gets angry without being able to defend themselves. The head gangster says to Rocky, to defend the driver and avoid dramatized in the street, that the driver doesn’t like Rocky for no particular reason, only one factor instinctive.
I rarely find a person that I do not like in an "instinctive" mode, but I’ve got the impression that  often someone doesn’t like me  for "instinctive". I shrug and look forward to head high.Another person that Rocky would like to have the estimate, but does not have, is Mickey, the owner of the gym where he trains (and who later became his coach).
Mickey says that Rocky is "a smoked cheese" in front of everyone in the gym. He removes the cabinet that Rocky had seven years without saying anything and a tough kid younger than Rocky. Mickey in Rocky does not forgive that he had begun to make the tax collector for a gangster. Rocky justified himself  by saying "I live with it". That is, He can live with the money obtained by the debt collector. Mickey raises his voice, saying, screaming "Can you call it live?". There is a subtle moral in this brief episode. A lesson I do not know or wanted by chance. LIVING for Mickey, does not mean keeping. LIVE also be people who do not compromise, even in the face of adversity. Being righteous people, honest, though broken by the hardships of life. No matter how you fall down, if you do things right, you get up again and live.But if you go down to compromises in order to "win back" you stay where you are.
Rocky is also teased by a girl of 12 years. Returning home at night, Rocky sees, in the midst of a group of young  who asked him the money to drink, a little girl. He knows her and so takes her to her home. Makes a speech trying to explain to her that should be take care to those who attend, that she should choose friends with the smartest guys with no fools. What must be careful how you attitude because the risk of being a bad reputation. She accompanies him to the door and pretends to understand and appreciate, then when he turns his back on her down screaming "fans grumpy ass." Rocky walks away saying sorry "but who in fact I think I am?".He is mocked in front of the cameras at the press conference, He  wants to greet his girlfriend Adriana and is pushed out. In this scene, a line of Apollo shows how much American are a people who love stereotypes. Apollo is asked what do does he think about Rocky and he says "are you Italian right? - Referring to Rocky - This means that if you cannot fight at least you can cook. "

Rocky is just a boy, trying to get a date with a contemporary Adriana unlucky like him, not at all attractive and sexy, and is mistreated by his employer and by his brother Paulie.
Rocky tries to attract the attention of Adriana 's going every day in the shop where he works, where he bought his two small turtles. He invents a joke every day to make her laugh.
Excellent technique to make people laugh a girl to win. Too bad she's shy and does not laugh much. Finally manages to take her out with the help of Paulie who invites him to dinner for the day when you eat turkey on Thanksgiving. He manages to "steal" Adriana output the same evening, go to skate because Adriana likes to skate, but not in Rocky (Sylvester Stallone does not know how to skate).The production of the movie did not have the money to pay for the extras in the ice rink so they invented the stadium was closed for holyday that evening. Rocky can’t skate and he is forced to pay 10 tickets for a run of 10 minutes.
Adriana and Rocky  known  each other better that night. Rocky explains to Adriana why is a boxer ( because he can’t  sing and dance).
Rocky invites to his house Adriana. Shy and timid first hesitates but then enters, and they kiss.There is therefore a man Rocky, a failure in love with Adriana. There boxer Rocky, a mediocre boxer who has never had the confidence of young coaches to emerge ("The liver is the fight but when you appear clumsy ... etc").
But luck is around the corner. If you do not ever soft, the face of adversity. Even in desperate cases, sooner or later your luck is knocking at the door. In his case is shown in a form unlikely. The proposed is to fight for the title against the champion of the world champ Apollo Creed.
Before hesitates, does not tell you right away, afraid and hesitate. And 'normal, he knows has no chance of winning against the world champion, he sees only that could be a further opportunity to be humiliated. But then you realize that it is also an opportunity. Rocky is an idealist. He knows that America is the land of opportunity. And he wants to show the world. And so agrees.Mickey aims to train him, says he needs a manager. Rocky obviously feels wronged, refuses the help of Mickey who presents them to the door just because he now fights for the title, while a few days before was only a "soft cheese". The out of the house, but then goes after him.He trains, he is convinced that  he can do it, he has  a chance.
But when it comes on the eve of the meeting the night before he realizes that he cannot beat the champion. Loses confidence and starts to get scared. Comes out to make a turn, gets inside the Spectrum Stadium in Philadelphia where the meeting would be held. Here it is noteworthy that in the shorts in the poster depicting Rocky inside the stadium were the wrong color. Was not done on purpose. There was an error and it was delivered to produce a giant poster with the wrong color shorts. So to avoid any kind of gaff it was inserted in the script Rocky points out the error to the organizer. This in turn says that it does not matter and that it will surely be a great meeting to be held the next day.

But no matter, no matter whether the massacre of punches Creed and loses. Its goal is to stand in the last round. Why no one has ever succeeded, and if he succeeds, then it proves to himself that is not only a "periphery’s bully" but he worth something.
The Rocky bathrobe  he wore on the day of the meeting was two sizes too big, was not done on purpose but also that as the poster was a mistake. To avoid falling into the ridiculous, a joke which was inserted Rocky asks Adriana if by chance the robe makes it awkward.
She avoids answering, as futile at the time of high tension.
The scenes are fast mach. In a movie of 25 chapters, deals with the mach 2 and a half chapters.  Apollo Creed in the meeting to humiliate the opponent, playing a little 'first encounter with him is (call it "stupid"), both during the meeting. But Rocky is a setter, and although his first shots have failed, unable to send Apollos to the mat with the first shot he can to score. A punch to the chin and Apollo is on the ground, will rise immediately, but is confused does not understand what happened, it is not possible for a boxer who is not no one has knocked out when no one had managed before.
Obviously the anger explodes into violence of Apollo and Rocky hits Apollo trampling on all subsequent rounds. Goes to ground many times. At the fourteenth round Rocky hits Apollo, falling to the mat. Apollo raises his arms in victory, he knows that throwing the opponent to the ground mean winning the fourteenth round. But Rocky gets up, does not give up, want to get to the end.
Ends the match, losing on points. But he does not care. She reached her goal. He won, there is Adriana.The movie ends with him calling from inside the ring Adriana besieged by journalists in disbelief of what happened. The invading of questions about the match and its future. He pushes them so .. "I do not care about the future ... go away ... Adriana !!!!"
Adriana hits the ring and tells him she loves him.The movie stops here. The original end is with her going out with him and the stage hand in hand. Picture taken up again but for the movie poster.
